WNBA in NBA 2K21

For many years players have been requesting the incorporation of female players in the NBA 2K franchise. NBA 2K has been around since 1999, but it was not until NBA 2K20 that the 12 WNBA teams were added to the franchise.

The incorporation was in the MyLeague mode, where you can play with any WNBA team in the WNBA league for multiple seasons. Now, 2K Sport promised that NBA 2K21 will continue to add more content for the WNBA.

This past month, a leaked photo of female players in MyPlayers has been circulating on the internet. This photo revealed that players can finally customize their female characters in NBA 2K21. It appears that the female players can be used in various game modes in the game, but we don’t know if this includes a separate single-player career mode. We hope so.

NBA 2K’s executive producer Erick Boenisch cleared some air regarding the inclusion of female players in NBA 2K21. He said: “Some new features and evolutions for WNBA and next-gen consoles; stay tuned for that.”

So the bad news is that the incorporation of female characters will be active in the next-gen version (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X) of NBA 2K21. We have to wait a little bit longer than expected.

Many questions remain on how female characters will integrate into MyPlayers. Would be a realistic representation that reflects the difference between male or female characters, or would be a more arcade interpretation? That remains to be seen, we have to wait for the release of the next generation of consoles.

The full game is out right now for the current generation of consoles: Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. And remember that you can always buy reliable NBA 2K21 MT coins on MTStacks store!
